Courseware Description

In this courseware, students learn about the main features and functions of the Autodesk MapGuide® Enterprise product suite, including the following:

  • Autodesk MapGuide Enterprise Server
  • Autodesk MapGuide Enterprise Web Extensions
  • Autodesk MapGuide Studio
  • Autodesk MapGuide Viewers

The hands-on exercises in this course teach students about the features and benefits of each product. The course teaches students about the concept of managing multiple web-based products that are under development. The courseware introduces students to PHP development with Autodesk MapGuide API. No programming is performed during the class.

Objective

The primary objective of this course is to teach students about the main features and functions of the Autodesk MapGuide Enterprise product suite.

After completing this course, students will be able to:

  • Describe the MapGuide Enterprise (Server, Studio, and Client Viewer) components and architecture, which includes supported operating systems, development environments, and Viewer options
  • Install and configure MapGuide Enterprise Server, using Microsoft® Windows® XP and IIS, in order to enable the MapGuide solution.
  • Use simple application examples based on a variety of data sources that can be used to illustrate the functionality of the MapGuide Enterprise solution within a typical environment.
